TR4/4A Random Hood/Bonnet Question

So during my restoration the shop had to buy a TR4A hood to replace my TR4 hood as it was beyond fixable. I had one of the TR4 hoods that didn't have the guide holes in the upper corners where the rubber cone shaped adjusters go. My adjusters were flat and sat on the hood. Well, I was looking at the cross brace where the latch rod with spring bolts up and it seems it is dented/creased on the driver side. Or at least I thought it was, there seems to be a diagonal dent on the passenger side as well. I think this was done to the cross brace so it conforms with the curved hood but I thought it was something the body shop overlooked. Would someone be able to look at theirs and confirm that there are indeed two diagonal dents/creases/whatever? One on driver and one on the passenger. I know...odd request... Thanks

It looks like the the bends are factory as mine also has them. This is the bonnet on my TR although the bonnet was replaced in '85 from an accident this one is from a 4A. The original was in much better condition and also used the flat corner bumpers, I now use the cone type.

Just looked at my 4A and there is a crease the starts at the latch and goes diagonally about 4" and another on the drivers side.

Great! Thanks everyone!!!! I thought maybe the body shop had missed something! Nope! There are a couple of other little things that I KNOW aren't normal tho.

Maybe be too late in your case....I would advise welding in an additional strengthening piece of steel to both sides of the hood.

We did that to our original hood after cracks developed on the edge of the rear brace. In the pictures above you can see the 1/2" conduit welded to the edge all the way down to the top of the curve of the hood. 1/2" conduit maybe overkill but it's what we had lying around.
