ram pipe sock

Any sources on a good looking functional pair of socks? I looked at the ones from Piper Cross. Has anyone bought from them?

Winner's Circle ( https://www.spridget.com/ ) has the competition style foam socks to fit the pipes they sell, others too I'm sure. The socks come with the metal mesh inside to prevent distortion; I plan to replace this with some plastic mesh to keep down scratches on the pipes.

As far as looking good...well...matter of opinion. I wanted some that would flow as freely as possible and still be easily removed when I show the car.

Have you found the plastic mesh for the inside. Or does anyone have any ideas as to what can be used?

Thanks JP. The fun stuff. I like walking around the hardware store and looking for stuff that is going to work! Never thought about a craft store... Got to see how the socks are made and how they look when I get them later this week. Then to think about how to hold them in place...... Hose clamps, zip tie, ?????

Try a needle-craft store!! Needle-point canvas comes in a fairly nice range of mesh sizes!!

As far as strapping them, probably just nylon ties that can be easily cut with a pair of nippers when the socks need to come off, then easily refitted with new ones.

I have to do some digging, but in another life I had a number of aquariums. The filters on some used foam and I seem to remember plastic webbing that went inside some of them. Theres also a perforated plastic panel available for aquarists that is used to divide the tank in half. It is quite flexible and easily cut to size. So, first stop will be my abandoned fish room and then, if no luck, the tropical fish store.

Hmmm. A job for either later this week or this weekend. First comes a good brake bleeding.

Got my grill in the mail today and got it installed. She has such a pretty smile!

For the sock mandrel I would look into common window screen. Don't see why it wouldn't work.
