Some of you OLD heads may remember, back when the the BCF was running on the original UBBThreads software (two software platforms ago), that I had developed a fun little game called the BCF Rally! It was a game that any registered member could participate in and it was essentially a road rally that you could play on the computer. At the time it was VERY popular and everyone wh played it seemed to enjoy it. Then, when I changed to a new platform (the software before the current platform), the game stopped working due to major differences in the forum programming (which the game had to interface with). At the time, I just didn't have time to mess with trying to reprogram everything to work with the newer software.
Well, now I have a little more time on my hands so I'm going to attempt (no promises) to re-write the game to integrate with an work on this latest forum platform. On thing I've learned right off the bat is that the PhP programming language has changed significantly sine the days I originally wrote the game. Many of the commands I had used in the game were written for PhP version 5.x. Now, on this new server and new software we are running PhP version 7.x and many of the commands I had used are now depreciated (meaning the PhP version installed now will not recognize those command). I'm currently reading a book on the latest version of PhP to try and get up to speed so I'll know how to go about re-writing the code. No promises, but IO'm hopeful that I'll (eventually) be able to roll out a fun Rally game. Here's a screenshot of the Game description and rules:
