Rain run leak check

Today it was raining pretty hard all day so I went for a long drive to see how my BE would handle the rain. The car ran great, no problems there. I drove it on city streets until it was fully warmed up then went out on the freeway and cruised about 20 miles at 60mph in fairly heavy rain.

Surprisingly, the only leaks I got were along the bottom windshield frame seal to the cowl, mostly directly in line with the wiper mounts. Air pressure was blowing it under the seal. It would only be a pain on a long trip, but I plan to take long trips and this is Ohio....... The gapping is minor, is there a good way to seal this without pulling the windshield assembly off and replacing the seals? Any other suggestions?

Dave

Slip a flat rubber strip underneath?

Agree with Trevor but add Permatex thin clear silicone windshield sealer as sold by VB. You can get it at your local friendly auto parts store probably as well.

Kurt.

Nomads got it correct.

Thanks to all who answered.

Jack, I just googled Niceville and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it is real, I had thought that maybe you made it up for fun.

Dave

Jack's nice, too.

Miss Agatha is even nicer. She needs a good run in the next couple of days though.

Not only that, I have a few little upgrades to work on for her. Parts on hand, now just need to do it.

I've been driving in the rain this week and finding my top is leaking.
Is there a preferred treatment for the vinyl that will waterproof it.
There are no rips or tears, it's just soaking through.

Only thing I can think of is original Armor All.

3M makes a product I use on my boat top and it's call 303 protectant if I remember correctly. That was for fabric tops, but my Sunbrella material never leaked.
Good luck, Rut

Right Rut - that's what I was trying to remember - 303 has been recommended before.
