As the restoration continues...wondering if anyone has a tip on what radio to look for that will fit in the 72 TR6. The old radio is shot...and still we want to try our best to use that hole. What has worked for you? Thanks, Gil NoCal

The way radio sizes are standardized you'll want a DIN size. I would say that because of the acoustics in the roadsters cockpit a radio and speakers with outstanding reproduction isn't as important as one that is loud. I doubt if you'll be able to pick up on all the subtle sounds that an elaborate system is capable of delivering.... especially when you're driving.
Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony or one of the radios that have a more classic look with modern features. A hundred dollars should get you a nice powerful modern looking unit. More for the retro's

I second the RetroUSA suggestion. I put one in my TR6. I had thought about the one being sold on ebay, but was told by folks that had tried it that it was too large for the TR6. The Retro unit is small in size (but not features and power). I mounted it and kidney panel speakers (Memphis Audio) and had lots of room.
