64 BJ8. Is the radio blanking plate suppose to be black? Or covered in material or painted to match the interior? My interior is blue. Thank you. Roger

HIASMHLY, The background was painted black, perhaps one of the others have a picture they can post for you.---Keoke

Hi Reid I think you are right. The pictures I have do not justify a contrasting color for the background but are some lousy pictures.---Keoke

I have a dim memory of the blanking plate on my ’67 being red vinyl, matching the interior. The plate was a spare part since the car was purchased new with a radio. Maybe installed at the dealership?

Does anyone know where to purchase (probably reproduction) vinyl covered blanking plates with the 3000 flash?

Hi rayrfx, Try E-bay, Sports and classics or perhaps Healey Surgeons. I have not seen one in ages.---Keoke

I swear I saw them listed in the lastest Moss Motors catalog. I'm traveling right now and can't verify, but a quick check of their website was fruitful... go to MOSS MOTORS WEBSITE and do a search for the word "radio" for Healeys and you'll get:

Part No. 472-040 BEZEL, radio aperture surround
Part No. 633-780 RADIO BLANKING PLATE
Part No. 633-788 BLANKING SET, radio aperature

...and you'll be on your way. Ain't technology grand? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
