Radiator Temp Gauge

Is there an easy way to adapt the modern temp gauge male threaded fitting to the backward female treaded temp sender radiator fitting?

The only way I see is to cut the old fitting off and braze or solder a modern piece onto it to tread a Bosch temp gauge sender into it.
