Can anyone tell me what the middle hole on this is for?
I have forgotten

My 74 TR6 has an A/C compressor on the other side and uses a bracket bent like a "Z", but the one on the drivers side has an empty hole. It's a part of a Triumph, must it have a purpose?

Hi Don,

Don't have my car in front of me for reference, but off the top of my head, they are not used normally. I was thinking carbon canister intially, but on mine I think that the bracket attaches to the front hole and runs down vertically beside the radiator.

Cheers,
Tush

Thanks Dave. I thought mine attached to the inner fender , but it's been a long time and digi cameras were rare when I tore it apart

Dave , After looking at the inside fender, I'm beginning to think the canisters do (?) mount there. Anyone with another thought on that?

Going to go out to the car now Don since I am home. BRB.

Cheers
Tush

Right behind you Dave. Don't make any sudden stops.

The carbon cannister mounts to the top rad stud and the bottom rad mount.

Aha!
So that hole is just to make the car lighter

You should plug that hole don so you don't have an oil leak.
