Most manual diagrams show a drain plug at the bottom drivers side of the radiator.
Our 74'doesn't seem to have one.
Does anyone else have this?
 
I've found that the easiest way to drain the rad is to pull the bottom hose on the engine side. The drain plugs are usually corroded enough to make it nearly impossible to open them without damaging something.

a friend of mine has a Hotrod and had the same problems due to very infrequent use. He installed an inline silt filter into the top radiator hose. This unit is stainless steel with a filter which catches all the loose scale and silt. It must be cleaned regularly (he does his every time he runs the car). Since installation he has had no more trouble with over heating. I believe they can be bought from most auto outlets for around $50, just a thought.
