Radiator filler cap

Thanks for all the help here.
I ordered a correct one from Healey Surgeons. Same as Ebay.
Quicker, faster than from Ebay ad above.
I let you know when I get it, how it works.
Cheers, Roger

Whew! that's a relief. Was afraid you might get an incorrect one.

Chaps, it seams as if you've got it sorted, but if not, they are available across the pond. Just bought one the other day for ÂŁ2.90 english. Looks ok but not marked as a Unipart product. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

I've found Healey Surgeons to be a very good source for parts. I always ask them if they've got an old original one lying around, and have gotten some great parts that were removed during restoration when someone wanted a newer, shinier part. They are very accomodating.

I received the cap yesterday. Healey Surgeons shipped it monday, the day I ordered it. New, correct, works. Nice to deal with professionals
Roger...that

I got a new cap from Victoria British a couple of weeks ago because I had been using the "non-concours" 4 ear replacement and it bothered me. I was fine with it until this thread (thanks, Roger). But this got me motivated to fish out the cap that was on the car when I first bought it.

The cap was a problem when I got the car, as it didn't close tight and I had leaks. But I didn't know enough to realize what I was doing, so I replaced it then. When I went back to it now, I realize that it was an original Healey cap, and the only problem was that the metal closing tabs had bent slightly from years of removal. Also, the cap was crapped up with crud on the outside, making it unsightly. So, I tightened up the tabs, polished the crud off, and now I have the original back on looking brand new and fitting perfectly.

Anybody need a slightly used replacement cap? It looks kinda like the original. But not quite.
