Radiator Fan Shroud [aka finger protector]

Have a quick question for the group regarding the fan shroud attached to the top of the radiator. My BT7 restoration project never came with a radiator core (just the bits surrounding it) so I had a new one built using a new core. Came out beautiful and fits perfectly. However, I noticed that it’s missing the top air shroud piece.

I purchased the shroud from Moss and notice that there are three small holes in it. My assumption is that the radiator originally had three mounting studs brazed to the top of the radiator so this shroud could be bolted on or off as needed. Is this correct? Also, what is the consensus regarding the “red” color used to paint it – any nice red rattle can work?

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Podracer169, the shroud is soldered to the header tank if you have not painted it yet I would have the shop install it for you.The original red paint on the shroud was an odd shade and was brushed on not sprayed.---Fwiw---Keoke
