T-Series Radiator Cooling Fan Switch

Have any of you had any problem with fan switches? My old radiator fan switch stuck in the closed position and wouldn't shut off the fans. I purchased a new fan switch, and after checking for airlock in the radiator, I find that the new switch won't close and operate the fans. I am currently trying to contact my supplier regarding another switch. Has anyone else had these problems?

Regards John

Never had a problem; mainly because mine doesn't have one for some odd reason. Someone apparently soldered a blanking plate over the switch hole on my rad. They then wired the fans to run all the time. One fan was DOA when I bought the car.

I ended up going with a 12" Hayden e-fan, which works quite well.

I have! Just replaced the radiator with new as well as all hoses, temp switch, etc. and low and behold was having trouble with the fans not coming on. Turns out the switch was at fault. Reinstalled the old one and now the fans are working as they should. Did you buy from Victoria British? Just wondering as I ordered all thru "the Autoist" via Victoria British. Maybe they had a bad run?

Wish I had known that so I could've contacted VB....when I get home next week, I'll pull up your order & have them send us another switch (or return your $$'s if you want).....the only way the suppliers know something is bad is if we tell them & I've not known of any problems with them; however, honestly, I order from Moss unless a customer specifies VB or Moss is out of stock.

Tony, Not to worry - It took me so long to get the new rad in the car that I figured it was not worth it - and life has been so busy that I really never thought of contacting you. I actually checked (via instructions above) the unit last night and it seems to work on and off... so... could I have damaged it? don't know. don't worry about it and I do thank you for the help when we had to replace the damage radiator that originally arrived.

Got my new radiator fan switch in today. Gordon at the B Hive tested before he shipped it to me. Installed it and tested it and now I have cooling fans once more. Things are looking up. Tomorrow we cruise.
