Rack leaking from shims

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a cure? I figure they might be a little wavy or have some grit between them even though I cleaned thoroughly before re-installing. Why not use 1 solid shim? I can cut one on the waterjet at work and not have to deal with all the pcs.

Would this be OK or is there a reason for multiple shims. There's gotta be a dozen or so.

Gasket there?

Don't remember a gasket, is a brass cap bolted to the rack.

MGB's have a gasket (Moss #263-805)

Hmm no gasket that I can remember. I guess I'll have to make one.

Gasket is REALLY thin as well. I'd say clean all and thin-film with Hylomar or RTV... Operative word here bein' "thin." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
