R.I.P. - Paul Frere

Just heard some sad news, that Paul Frere passed away yesterday, details here... https://www.planetlemans.com/2008/02/24/rip-paul-frere-30-01-1917-23-02-2008/

I wasn't even thought of in the 1950's when he was racing, but am familiar with the name and the person through my reading of the the pages of Road & Track in the 1980's and 1990's, and was always amazed to hear about him flogging cars hard on the track at the age he was
 
Sad but, we can't live forever and look at his marvelous career. Not many race car drivers live as long as he did. He lived a long and full life. May he rest in peace.

I love the photo in which Frere is standing next to the track pointing to the apex with a cane as a Porsche aims for it.
