He has been suffering from ailing health, but it is sad to learn that the source of much U.S. racing news for years has passed away. He was the editor of National Speed Sport News, but is known by many more for his work on ABC's Wide World of Sports.
 
His impromptu interview with Ayrton Senna after a DNF will live in my mind for as long as I have one. :wink:
 
I can't recall how many Indy races I watched with my Dad and it was Jim McKay and Chris Economaki covering the race on ABC......
 
He was a member of my local SCCA region (NNJR-SCCA) longer than any other member ever.
