Going out on a limb - is it a custom Marcos?

It isn't a Marcos but there is a Marcos connection. Anyway I'm off into the garage now so it'll give you a few hours to think about it! JP was on the right track
 
Looks like I was pipped. The car was designed in 1969 by Dennis and Peter Adams, former Marcos designers and was used in Kubricks 'Clockwork Orange'. Powered by a tweaked an Austin 1800cc engine.
