Hi all,
Despite owning my Healey for nearly 25 years I have recently become fed up with the loud knocking/tapping noise from the pump. I think my car has a SU with electronic points(?). Does any know if there a quieter pump that can be fitted?
Thanks
Phil

Not responding to the fuel pump issue at hand, but the www.asstraldimenson.com site suggested by another member is the best I've seen.

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what sort of noise I should expect from my fuel pump (electronic points SU?, ill check later).
A the moment I get a moderately loud clicking which is allays present, but increase in frequency as the demand changes. under moderate acceleration the clicking becomes ver frequent. Is this correct? Could there be a air leak?

Expect a click every 3-6 seconds at idle depending on idle speed, faster as speed increases, fast 'click-click-click' under hard acceleration. If you have an air leak on the intake side, the clicking will be very rapid and/or sporadic at idle. If you have a leak on the output side, you'll smell gas.
