In the newly-found spirit of quick fix here, I thought I'd add mine to the mix. A little while back, I managed to 'lose' my OD relief valve, thinking its plug was the OD drain plug. I found the valve body, plunger and filter as I was emptying the old gearbox oil into a bin. Thinking the rest had to have fallen in the bin that had since been emptied, I set about ordering a new one.
Fast forward to yesterday, changing the oil in my truck. I dropped the drain plug in the drain pan; no big deal, I get it out. However, I find other things when I'm picking out the drain plug...you guessed it. The other parts to my relief valve! WHEW! $100 bullet dodged!
To conclude a long story, I reassembled the pieces, reinstalled them, and I have my overdrive back! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
