quick carburetion fix

that's cold dude.

I'm just picking. There's a guy online that "micro polishes" carbs. But he won't tell even the smallest detail about how he does it. he claims his special mix of media is a "trade secret".
However I may use it to make a little resto funds, by offering polished bits, I'm far more intrested in advancing our hobby.
I won't keep my findings secret.
If I go to a car show someday, and find a set of nicley polished carbs, that I find out were done using my info. That's payment in full.

Oh boy, goodness knows I have lots of things that need polished.

Use the force, It's your only hope!

Ben, I think you need a truckload of polishable bits to work on, to test your 'trade secret.' I'll get things boxed up to you right away. It's a sacrifice, but the least I can to for the 'sport.'

Oh Jaybird Your selfless generosity awes me. I'm overwhelmed with glee knowing that there are those like you who always put the welfare of others at the forefront of thier attention.

~shleps off to pack up chromie stuff~

This design isen't for chrome. I'm not sure It would work on that.
I'm trying to be able to polish aluminum, AKA carb parts and get a nice even finish without the hours with a dremel.

Ahh...
~shleps out to the garage to pack up alumeeum stuff~

ahlyuemineeum?

Properly pronounced it's Al-you-mini-yum. Pip pip and cheerio and all that.

Oh, I too have some aluminum bits. Where do they get sent now?

You know, maybe we could get a good price if we rent a big hauler, United Van Lines or something...

AGHHHHHHH! ~bangs head on desk~
Let me get a proven system in place first! I haven't polished piece one yet.
I was gonna stop on the way home and get some media at the local gun shop, but I missed his closing time by 15 min.
I'm hoping to try tomorrow night.
My biggest concern is if I have to use water in the media mix. It's below freezing here now, and it's supposed to stay that way for a while, and the tumbler is out in the garage (no heat).

Jeez guys (n gals), he's gonna let us know how to do it ourselves. Give 'im room to breathe! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

No water. Maybe brass polish (maybe liquid). I am racing ahead to see if I can do it. Shorts weather here tonight. Had to roll down the windo of the B GT because it was too warm.
