TR6 Question

How do you access the transmission on a '73 TR6 to check transmission oil?
And to add gear oil?
Thanks.
I looked at the schematic on Moss Motors and it looks like its on the side
of the tranny. Do I have to get under the car? Which side?

It's on the driver side. When the tranny is full there will be oil at the fill hole or just barely below it when the car is on all 4 sitting on level ground.
Not having a lift, I jack up that side, fill the tranny, lower the car, let the excess drain out, then put the plug back but NOT TOO TIGHT,... most of the time without 'rejacking.

On my TR4 I added a hole to allow direct access to the plug. It is the forward (left) hole in this pic:

I used a rubber plug of the size made for other tunnel holes on the TR3 & 4 -- others have made a larger hole and used the jack-hole plugs from the TR3-4.

I am unfamiliar with the TR6 but seems likely something similar could be done.
