By any happy chance does anyone happen to know the thread size for the stearing shaft/stearing wheel nut.

Looks like I am going to have to chase the male threads before I can get a nut on there.

Have to find my thread guage and get back to you Jack. I do know it is a fine thread though and 9/16ths dia.! Hopefully someone will beat me to it ( I have to run out for a bit!).

Try 9/16-24 (Took the nut off mine to measure it and found it was rather buggered up. I will have to re-tap and get a new nut too!) I noticed in VB pp96-97 the older and newer cars have a different part#!! My 69 looks to be finer than the 59. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

Is 20 pitch. At least a 20 pitch thread file cleaned it up enough to get the lock washer and nut on.

Thanks guys.
