question on year

My vin is GAN 5 UE 140742 G

So, my title says 1974, the chart in the Vicky Brit catalog says 1974, but the vin tag says 10/73. I have had a few LBC's and understand about the title information.

I assume the vin tag is correct but I wonder why the chart in Vicky Brit is so far off.

A car made 10/73 is most likely a 74 model year. From what I am finding out about my son's 69 they must have changed the model year at the end of September. looking at your vin and estimating they made 42 cars a day it may be more like the end of August or mid September.
