Question on assembling BN6 hood

Hi, I am trying to assemble the hood of my bn6. Unfortunately I am not able to figure out how the hood clamb is fixed on the hood frame. In every configuration the frame could not be tensed since the hook of the clamb seems to be too long. Even the worksop manual did not help me since the pictures are of low quality. Can anybody help e.g. by posting some pictures? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, what do you mean by "clam"?

Hey BN6 2197,
Are you referring to the "hooks" that slide over the sides of the shroud to
keep the hood from flying up or the "striker pin" assembly that goes down into
the catch assembly to lock the hood down ? I'll be glad to e-mail you some
close up pictures if you PM me with your e-mail address. Just finished
my BN6 964 so real familiar with those details.
Regards,
Mike

Hi, please apologize my inprecise description of the problem. I am trying to assemble the softtop roof of my BN6. There is a "something" (see picture) that is attached to the roof frame to tighten the roof to the windscreen pillar. The problem is that even in a tightened mode the hooks (referred by No. 10) do not close the roof since they are to far away from the bolt in the windscreen pillar. Did you get it ;-)

Isn't that a picture of the rear hooks? I might be confused, I'm used to a BN4 apparatus.

Well have you adjusted Item #10 so that the overall length of Item # 7 is shortened. This should bring the "Hood" down closer to the windscreen frame when the latch is closed.-Fwiw-Keoke

Hey BN6 2197,
Well, should have figured you meant the soft top or HOOD as it is referred to in
Europe or at least the UK. Now it makes sense ! The hood/top attachment
latch is what you are having trouble with. The chrome bolt that screws into the
top of the windshield posts can be screwed in too much but not a lot of adjustment
there. Are your hooks "bent" to one side or straight ? I am sure your hood frame
is the correct one as it should only have one and half bows versus the three
bows for the BN4, correct? If it's the correct frame then can only mount
one way. When I put my hood up, the front frame rail just about sits on top of
the windshield frame. The J hook on the latch needs to be positioned so it will
just go around the chrome bolt - mine does it at an angle - and when you
pull up on the latch lever, should draw your top up. If you could post a picture
of how it looks when you are trying to close it up would help a lot. You can
e-mail it to me at:harborislander@aol.com if you want. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Mike
