Question on '67 horn button

Among the many boxes of parts, I finally found the steering wheel and later the horn button. They seem to match up and look like the pictures in Horler. The problem, I have not found any of the in-between stuff that mates them together and the Haynes manual and Moss catalog doesn't give any help. Does anyone have pictures or even remember how to describe what I should be looking for or what I might have to make. This is a photo of the back of the button.

You should be looking for a copper plated cup that bolts beneath the nut that holds the steering wheel and that your horn push will lock onto. Also a spring and a contact that comes out of the hollow center of the steering shaft. The brush that is in the middle of the steering shaft is the critical bit. Everything else I'm sure you could find used. Seems like I have the cup and spring but haven't a clue where.

Thanks Kurt. I have the center contact and I think I found the spring. I was guessing something similar to the cup you described. I have since been through all the remaining boxes and found nothing that seemed related except that spring. Nowhere else to look for the cup other than try to make one now.

I think I would try some of the used parts places first. The ones that regularly sell on E-bay. I can do a search of my stuff as well. Not a simple thing to make since the three tabs on your horn push have to turn to lock into it and then be able to be pushed up and down without coming out. Also your horn button needs to be indexed correctly after everything is assembled.

Ebay is a possibility. I do understand your concerns on trying to make one and I have plenty of other stuff that I should be doing instead. If you get a chance to see if you have a spare I would really appreciate that. Meanwhile, I will start checking ebay and such.

I looked in the place where I expected it to be with no success. I'll look some more.
