How can you tell if your grill is orginal and worth rechromeing or you should just get another?
 
The original grill has a small detail line around the top edge that isn't there in the reproductions. I sent mine to Brad Del Sorbo as a core and bought one that he had already reconditioned. I dont have it in hand just yet but everyone tells me that the quality is top notch.

Jack, got mine through Brad Del Sorbo at Britanic Classics, as well. Very very nice job. I think he charged me $300 and my old beat up grill, to get a perfect, new looking yet original stock grill.

One problem with Brad, he takes a while (at least he did with my gauges and to a lesser extent my grill), but his work is good.

Is this detail line the rough edge and extra line that looks like it was not cut properly?
 
Brad restored my gauges (basically took my beat up gauges and made them look new).

I don't know if he is on google or not. Try calling him if you want. Someone gave the number above.

Ahh, shucks. My grill is an aftermarket. That's what I was afraid of. Sigh.

My dash has that same cut out same size and all. Wonder what was in there, what kind of radio I mean.

I'll try to get it out for you tomorrow Jack. These arent in the best shape so Brad may charge a small 'surcharge' if theres extra work to refinish the core but you have to have something. I dont think you'll be disapointed in the grill that you get back. I cant wait to get mine mounted!!
