OMG, the guy in the red big Healey was scary, and to think most of those guys probably have some pretty seriously prepped motors, and you were out driving them big time, good job!

...in th' first one on a couple laps there was a VeryYellow blob off under the tower... is there a chance you noticed what it was? Just curious.

It's an ALFA Spider. I'm sure I have a still pic of it.
There was a nice, fast blue GTA in the faster group.

I'll post pixs of both of them as soon as I get today's project finished.
(I'm welding in an extra brace on the Escort cage...need to finish that before an event at Pocono next weekend.)
 
I'm still having 2nd thoughts about missing the PVGP...

It will be the 1st time in 10 years!

(And I missed BeaveRun on account of the SCCA race at Nelson)
 
Nial, you changed you number. I was there looking for you but since I had only met you last year for a few minutes (I beleive you were driving #11) I assumed you were not going to be there. We were there Saturday and what a great day to sit and watch you guys run around the track).

What car was it that backed into the guard rails and had to be flatbed-ed in?

I will be at the PVGP on saurday for the British cars day and to watch some of the qualifing. It is supposed to be very hot, high 80's or low 90's.

Yeah...changed my number because too many "11s" in vintage so I was always having to add/change the number. Plus "909" has a Beatles connection I like (my Escort NASA-racer is 909 too).

Saturday was a great day, but Sunday was OK between the brief showers. I made it to about 1/2 the last race when my ring and pinion stripped (I think....haven't checked it yet).

The car that backed into the wall was Paul Bova...he's OK. I talked to him later on. The black car is a new one to him...he normally drives the blue Turner that's next to me in the signature picture below. Not sure if you saw the nice (and fast) orange Spitfire get *hammered* by the Elva. Spitty was totalled and Elva was pretty bad too. Spitfire was a nice one and the owner was furious about it (we were next to him in the paddock).

I have a ton of pictures but I may not get them posted for a while. I'm off to Pocono NASA race this weekend and then a week goofing off in Rehoboth.

I thought it was a Ginetta that was involved with the Spitfire--no Elvas were injured in the making of this event to my knowledge.

I had two great sessions on Saturday--stuck to the back of the Courier driven by Herve Parke in the AM practice and pushed around the track by him in the PM qualifier for the full 18 laps. I have some great video of the first session but still can't get it onto Youtube. Sunday was wet and I tiptoed around but had a great time and learned alot.

I'm entered in this weekend's PVGP--more later.
 
I loved the Orange Spitfire, I did see him running but I did not see him get wrecked. Who had the TR6 which was SLOW SLOW SLOW? The TRF sponsors TR4 was disappointingly slow too. I had such high hope for all the TR's
 
I have tons of pictures, but will have to wait until I get back from vacation.

Anyway, here's the orange Spit that got wrecked (next to my car). Thing dynoed at 115 HP to rear wheels (1300cc) and used 7600 rpm redline (I use 5800). Billet crank, fancy rods, etc. The tub and paint was nothing special, but the car was a rocket.

Oh why weren't they running in Shenley Park in my college days there :wall: That has to be fun!! (we used to run "midnight races" through the park in my day!! :devilgrin: )

Yeah, Chariots of fire, hehehe!!! It was "run-what-ya-brung" and all very "hush-hush" and against the clock...no wheel to wheel stuff! :devilgrin:
