TR4/4A Putting H6 SU's on a TR4A intake manifold.

Here is a quote I read somewhere,maybe the Competition manual:H"S"6 carbs have a shorter throat than H6 carbs and were intended to be mounted on the TR4A intake manifold which has a longer throat. While the SH6's will mount on the TR3 manifold. What would happen if you mounted the H6(longer throat)carbs on a TR4A manifold(longer throat)?A benefit or drawback in terms of better breathing?
