Put-a Put-a Put-a

I needed to cheer myself up a bit. It was a long day. So I headed out to the garage and got my vintage Toro lawnmower fired up for the first time this year. It'll be a while before there's any grass to cut, but the rythmic put-a put-a put-a of that 1951 Briggs and Stratton is just enjoyable to hear. Now I smell like exhaust, my garage is filled with a blue cloud, even though the door was open, and I'm in a better mood.
So there!

Toss a bit of Castrol-R in the next batch of gas!!!

Already cut lawn once!

That's hardly the case around here! I haven't put the snow blower into it's summer corner yet -- it may still come in handy.

Raining today -- might snow in the next 24 - 36 hours...

Don't know if this is news on the outside yet, but there WILL be "national news grade" flooding on the Red River in Fargo, shortly.

Yeh, that 23+ above flood stage is going to be one big problem in the Dakotas.

Spent my day taking the Christmas tree down. Actually, yesterday too. We cut it Thanksgiving week, so had 4 months of enjoyment. I was shooting for Easter, but it was getting a little dry. Stopped "drinking" about Valentines day. Because we cut a tree (white pine) that hasn't been sheared for a few years, they are always 6-8 feet wide; means I have to cut all the branches off to get it back out the door. When it comes in, they are flexible enough to just get in.

Ben- I get the same garage atmosphere starting the car.

My friend in Ontario prefers a snow blower mounted to his tractor, as compared to the people who just run a plow truck.

He owns a small farm and feels that the slow and steady snow blower (blowing it out of the way) is more effective than just pushing it around.

I cut my "lawn" once... I think it was in 1988. :smirk:

I can now see my lawn. A little green and brown out there.

Nice. I belong to a small engine club here and have been restoring a 20's vintage make & break Fuller & Johnson 1.5 hp engine. I should be done about 2015.

Meanwhile, I 'm hoping to find one of those little Maytag 2 cylinder air cooled jobbies that were used on washing machines.

Cool.. And you've got the perfect truck to take those old engines to club meetings and shows too!
I gotta get me an old model A.. or I'd settle for a late 40s F100 with a flathead.
I'd trade both my TR2 project and my CJ-lopy for a tatty but drivable vintage truck.

Got a '48 1/2 ton Dodge Pick-up that is badly in need of some cosmetics. Runs great - 70 on the interestate. Shucks, forgot it belongs to husband and he just might not be too happy if he can't at least look at it every day...

oooh... soo close.... hehehehehehe
