Hey everyone - just a quick question. While I was pushing the car to my neighbors garage to put it on the lift - the car seemed excessively heavy - all wheels turning on the lift. Car was in neutral of course. Any suggestions.

Brakes can be dragging a little on each wheel. They will spin okay off the ground but all four dragging a little when pushing the car can make it hard to push.

The residual pressure valve can also cause the front brakes to drag for some time after use, then eventually release. I disabled mine years ago because I didn't like having the brakes drag.

Another possibility along the same lines is a soft brake line that has failed internally and is acting like a (leaky) check valve.

Wheel alignment can also cause hard motion, even when the individual wheels turn freely.

Or it may be just that the car IS deceptively heavy for it's size

I pushed my car across a soggy lawn by myself.If you cant move it easy somethings wrong,these cars are light.

I mounted a 12V ATV winch to the front of my 4-post list to make it easier when I work alone.

I have come to the conclusion this a.m. that the rear right brakes were frozen to the drum and there is a leaking brake line - I am assuming this is my reason for heavy pushing. Thanks Everyone....going back on the couch....
