Push Notifications

I see this message on my screen: "British Car Forum would like your permission to enable push notifications." What would these be?

push notifications on BCF? I'd totally forgotten BCF offers that option.

Seems to be almost any notification you get by text or email. BCF might say "you have a PM". I think. I had to look it up a couple weeks ago.
