Pulling the motor and trans?

Easier than what ? If you just want the trans out, then I feel it's easier to leave the engine (and apron) in place. But if the engine has to come out anyway (which AFAIK means the apron has to come off anyway), then might as well pull the transmission with it.
 
That was actually a stupid question on my part. I have to remove pretty much all the sheet metal along with the drive train, because everything has some work to be done to it.
