Pulling just the rocker arm?

Can the rocer arm on an MGB be removed without destroying the head gasket seal? The car runs fine, I just think I have a worn rocker face or 4.

absolutely! You can remove the entire rocker assembly without removing the head. I've removed and rebuilt my rocker assembly about year and a half ago without removing the entire head, and without any ill side efffects.

The valve cover gasket on the other hand is a different story. Unless, of course, you have one of them new fangled "silicon" gaskets that are reusable. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Drain the radiator so the water is below the head level...back off all the head bolts in the proper sequence about half their torque...then remove the rocker assembly...when you put it back on, torque the head properly.

Thank you folks!
