pulled my motor today!

Well, that's the funny thing. The moss catalog does show a 948-1275 section and another for the 1500. But under the 1500 section, they show 2 gearboxes... one '71-74 and another '75 and on. I see what you mean by the differences. I don't know why moss would list a '71-74 gearbox under the 1500 section, if the '74s were 1275's? They didn't make a 1500 in '74 did they?

John, not for a Midget. They were still all in Spits in '74.

You're looking under Triumph Spitfire; maybe they did things differently on the Spit. The info for AH Sprite and MG Midget is correct.
