In 1970, this Austin Maxi drove the London to Mexico rallye. One of its original drivers plans to drive the *original* car again.

Bonus points to whoever guesses what "paper knickers" were.

Cool! By 1970 World Cup Rally - apparently the toughest rally ever - 100 cars started, 23 finished - coincidentally, I just bought the book on Tuesday at an awesome book store that my daughter introduced me to. https://www.amazon.ca/Daily-Mirror-...84229715&sr=8-1&keywords=1970+world+cup+rally

One of my big dreams is to take an Morris 1800 Landcrab and recreate it into a Rally Car (or a Rally Shaped Car)

My guess is "paper knickers" are disposable diapers....but I guess that "depends" on who's wearing them.

those lady's driving uniforms are a sign of the "flower power" times.

i remember my Mom made dresses for she & my sister that had a similar pattern.

(grooooovy). :victorious:
