I did it! After too many years admiring all the sweet British Cars you all own, I finally took the plunge. 1 year of research, 10+ inspections/test drives later, my 1973 TR6, that I went from NYC to LA to inspect, and buy is on its way home. Found a TR thats had a good home for 19 years. Its a really brilliant Peugoet Red, which I have not id'd yet. Recent engine rebuild with mild uprated cam, flywheel, and other goodies within the last 2years, rust free down under,Dual Ansas and a few other things. Came with an aftermarket hardtop, with a "Surey look" wrap around rear window, a boot cover, 2 Toneue tops, but alas, no soft top or soft top Frame. I'm happy 'cause this little beast has been driven more than stored and was tight and responsive in Test Drives. Tight being a relative term, as I've learned.. I've admired these for 20 years, know I'm in for alot of work but very excited!!

Welcome!

Lots of good events going on in our area.

Just be careful!....in another 3 or 4 years, you may end up with a "collection" of these cars (like some of the rest of us) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Welcome - my first tr6 too - got her in northern MN - a bit of frame rust but over all not bad - its also a 73. Mine is mostly stock - but have put in a 123 ignition distr. instead of converting the lucas to electronic. Sounds like you got yourself a wonderful car. Did you trailer it to NY? I hauled my on a trailer from MN - did not want to have any bad surprises driving it back to Florida.

yeah for new/old 73 TR virgins /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Best of luck 2 U. Did the enclosed Trailer for the same reason, and it just arrived this past Friday. 14 days of nail-biting waiting and after many different temps across the country from sunny so cal & she started right up,a few minutes, a plume or 2 of Black smoke later she was running fine. Of course upon arrival NY temps drop down to below 40. Gave her a few hours or running, fuel stab. and dry gas, and tucked in to garage under cover. Whats a 123 igintion distr. ?

Cool! Welcome to the forum. You'll have to post some pics.

Welcome and congratulations!!

Please remember that we are all here to help each other and the only "dumb" question is the one that is never asked.

Feel free to post openly or PM me on anything that you think that you need help with. I'm sure that all of the other guys will offer the same option as me.

Good luck!

Where abouts in NY are ya?
