Proper location of chrome loop for spare tire strap?

Greetings,

Finally turning my attention back to the 3000 and finishing a few details that were overlooked. I need your help on where to position the chrome bracket that holds the spare tire strap. I don't see any holes in the trunk floor (along the rear of the fuel tank) or in the rear shroud in the same general area.

Can you tell me where it should go?

Thanks, Jeff

They should be about 6 inches left of center. If you have the original trunk floor there should be some nuts welded to the floor in that location to accept the screws for the chrome loop. If not the original floor then you will have to drill new holes and use machine nuts on the underside. Be very careful if you have to drill new holes because the holes will be positioned just on the front edge of the fuel tank.

Jim
