A clip from a film about Vichy France propaganda during WW2. A cartoon character representing deGaulle in London radios a message to the people of France: "Be patient - we are coming soon". Then we see American cartoon characters bombing the French people.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Felix the Cat - all used against the Allied cause.

[/VIDEO]f you want to see the original Chabrol film about all this, it's "The Eye of Vichy".

I disagree with the YouTube caption "hilarious". It's scary stuff.

Propanda has always been, and always will be.

Let's keep the discussion light, OK?

And the purpose of this thread?????

LOL - I just wanted to share a film clip I found, showing how American symbols were turned against the Allies in WW2.

Nothing more. Propaganda was/is used by just about all sides of all issues. It's the content and method of this one that interested me.

Thanks for asking.

LOL! I can't imagine people actually believing such propaganda. I suppose there are always those who do not question what they are told.

Neat old film!

Yeah, it's amazing what people -en mass - will swallow if the packaging is slick enough and the message repeated often enough.

has anyone been able to get the Video linking to work recently? Seems we used to be able to put a "frozen" video in the post - but now we just get the html code.
