...Well, I did it, and poof I am nuts, I bought this used '97 XK8. I think I got a good deal on it, we will see.
Timing chain tensioners had been replaced, so that was the kicker.

And dont tell me it is just a Ford, with all the weird things on this, ONLY British enginers could come with some of this stuff!!!;-)

Cheers.

People say it's "just a Ford" cause they're jealous. But really... I mean it's just a Ford! Oh...Wait... Ummmmm.

Nice ride. I'm jealous.

If they have you committed,I'll come & take care of
the Jag until you're "all better".

I don't know, I haven't seen a Ford lately that looked that nice. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif Good luck with the new wheels.

Yeah, that's a FORD!! (For Occasional Racy Drives! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif ) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Well if it's just a Ford, it's a darn nice one. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Thanks guys, so far so good. I bought it near Portland, OR and it was sure a more comfortable trip than when I brought the Healey back from Seattle along the same route!!!

I'm jealous and what's wrong with fords. I have two of my own. Sweet looking ride. One of my favorites.

I bought one 3 summers ago. Best bang for the buck out there right now. If only they had a manual gearbox they would be perfect.

Hey I like Fords (well most of'em anyway /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif ).

That said - I've always liked the XK8 (Jags first V8 BTW) & actually like the coupe's styling lines over that of the Roadster drop top. Bout my only two issues with the XK8 is that they don't come with a manual and I wish it was a hatch back rather than a boot.

A vast improvment over the styling of old XJS it replaced - with the intro of the Xk8 in 1996 Jag also saw the discontinuance of the V-12.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif Very nice. I bought a '96 XJS 2+2 convertible, almost two years ago. When I really like a car, I give her or him a name. Voila Onslow A Jaguar it is. I've not been sorry for having purchased him. He was one-owner and local. I considered myself lucky to get him.

Enjoy your Jag!
