Project Update - The Grey Lady's body is painted

After almost 7 years, the Grey Lady, TS 58476 LO, will soon be coming home. These photos were taken last weekend and although the doors, wings, bonnet and boot lid are not attached they are all in Silverstone Grey color. The rolling chassis, engine, gearbox, diff, etc have been complete for "years" are will be married to the body this week. The new estimated completion date is late March 2008. Stay tuned for regular updates.

Aloha Frank,

She is looking good. A unique color so it will be a stand out. What will the interior color be?

Looks very nice. I have to say that until I saw the pictures of the TR my first thought was underwater paint. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Re: Project Update - The Grey Lady's body is paint

Looks great Frank,

I am considering the same color on mine when it is time.

Is it the camera/lighting or does the grey lean towards white? I've got a pint of the silverstone and the pearl grey I'm going to spray on some test panels to make sure. I was just interested in the silverstone applied by what looks like a pro.

What type of paint did you use? Lacquer, enamel?

Thanks, Gordo

Looks good, all the same!

Re: Project Update - The Grey Lady's body is paint

Very very nice! Looks very professional Frank. Yes you got to drive it. Although be ready to redo it again in 20 years. My 3 was done and on the road in 1983. Many years of enjoyment. Especially taking it to the TRF party. 3 hour drive for me. Paint is tired, rear end leans a little. Engine compartment is embarrassing. If I want to look pretty now I take the 250. In fact it will have been on the road for 1 year tomorrow. 8-10-06. Finished it in the morning. Got tire at noon. Then headed of on a 3 hour tour to the TRF party. 69 TR6 OD in the rough waiting it's turn. Then one more model and I'm done. You can probably guess which body style.
