Greetings All,
As of today I have added halogen lights with relays and new fuses for both the high and low sides. I also added two more relays with fused circuits for the wipers and heater motor, but did not get finished on that. I did get a new switch on the heater circuit so at least the fan motor will work, even if it is somewhat slow. I suspect I will need to upgrade the alternator as a part of the electrical project. I was able to replace the original dirty OEM four fuse block with a new unit from VB.
I installed new oil and temp senders along with a new voltage stabilizer. End result of the change is that the fuel gauge only reads up to 3/4 when full and temp being slightly lower when on the road. As the oil gauge is mechanical no change there. The electrical oil pressure sender is a part of the anti-deiseling shut-off circuit. I found a charcoal cannister & hoses on e-Bay which allowed that to be reconnect that circuit. This in turn makes the motor shut off without the troublesome running on that it had prior to this correction.
I moved the choke control back under the dash and reconnected the instrument panel dimmer control that was just hanging under the dash. I DO NEED THE NUT AND KNOB FOR THE DIMMER SWITCH on a 77 B. If anyone has these drop me an email.
I picked up some of the new style struts for the trunk (boot!) and the hood (bonnet!) from Moss. I installed the trunk unit and it worked great. Most likely get to the hood units (2) later this week or over the weekend.
I finished the above tasks on Saturday and enjoyed some sunny but slightly cool cruising on Sunday here in north Alabama and up into Tennessee.
