This weekend:
Pulled the motor. Cleaned all the sludge out, checked the bearings and compression. Everything looks good. Reassembled and painted. Cleaned the engine bay. Took A LOT of pictures and removed the wiring harness.(Turns out the reason that the starter was direct wired to a switch on the dash was damage to the wiring harnes behind the dash. Lots of melted wires. Good thing we planned to replace it huh?)
New dash is ready. Put in in new switches and cut all holes for vents and guages.

Tomorrow:
Finish wiring, install dash, steering column, new clutch and motor. Finish sanding and varnish on Mondo steering wheel. Then to begin working on interior...floors,seals, carpet, seats, panels.
If time permits (HA-HA)

I LOVE PROGRESS!!!!!

Still need to find some wheels and can't decide which way to go...orginal rostyle or maglights?
Need new exhaust and brakes.

Jedi : How many wee men are helping you squeeze a 4-week-end project into Day One and Tomorrow. By Golly, please give us an address. If you meet those deadlines, you deserve official recognition. Here's a suggestion: while keeping at your task, send your beloved to the flea market to pick-up one of those beer tournament trophies, tack a picture of you and your car to the figurine, cut a piece of duct tape (3-in.) and use a permanent market to write «FASTEST GD ON EARTH» and stick it over the existing plaque on the base of your trophy. Select a prominent display location and place it next to an image of Lucky Luke (who shoots faster than his shadow) bearing the following autograph «TO GD FASTER THAN ME» Lucky.
Hope your phone never rings over the week-end.
Best of luck and perseverance.

Boy, that takes lots of energy.

Its actually not too much energy when there are two people working. Our phone doesn't ring, our oldest is back at college and our youngest even occasionally ventures out to the garage to help out- making three workers.
Around our house, cars are a family hobby and its amazing how quickly things get done when the music is on and everyone has thier own project area.
Our goal is to have it running and ready to drive for summer...we'll see. :driving:

Yep, son and I always said we together could do the work of three.
