DHL guy just came bringing a package from Chris Gage, "0".

An orginal Bugeye horn, beep beep and a fuel guage that is pristine and works.

Thanks Chris, sooooo much for parting with these two choice items.

Now am out of things to do until SWMBO provides some bucks for a few big ticket items like seat covers and grill and rear bumperetts mostly.

Well I guess I can mess with the carbs a bit more, they are not completely to my likeing yet. Oh my word, I am almost there.

Think everything works now but the high beem light on the tac. can not immigine what that is, think I will check the bulb first, hehe.
 
Glad you got that gas guage, Jack...I found one but haven't put 12V to it yet.
 
Guage had been working just fine, now it is not. I wonder, I just wonder if the sending unit is ok. Gesh, I hate to pull the tank down. That's a new unit as well.
 
just so you know, I pulled my tank (quite remarkably) 3 times until I got the fuel gauge/fuel tank situation all squared away.

1st time) sending unit was faulty
2nd) sending unit screws weren't battened down as much as they should have been, and consequently fuel seeped out once I filled the tank up to the brim
3rd) sending unit was too "jumpy" for my liking so I swapped with NOS Locators one--which claimed their version did not (it is MUCH better).

All good now, though. Phew!
 
I'm not sure of anything at this point Ben, but it did work for awile so I know it is good. Need to check all the wireing on it now, especialy the grounds. No telling what I will find.

Note that headlight high beam dash light does not work either now that I have the headlights up and running. Need to check connections there as well. That light is a straight shot so should go without problems, maybe bulb.
