With Drew's dash project and everyone else's progress I figured I'd get somethings done. This is the track car's new dash and the start of a cleaned up engine bay. The next steps are to clean up the interior a little, some body work and a coat of white paint on the exterior.

Nice work, Chris. I like the "engine turned" dash effect. And that's one big tach!

I really need to get off my duff and make some progress on my dash project now...

And *white*...that will be a different look (white is my favourite color on cars...easy to keep looking clean).

I haven't done a thing on my Spridget since the last race at Summit. I'm too busy with the twin-cam Escort project. Not sure which car I'll bring to Shenandoah right now.

I have a good 1275 engine for the car. I'll rebuild it (mostly stock) when the Ford is done (and then I'll swap it for the 1500). But that'll have to wait until it gets warmer.
 
Drew – The tach is pretty big but when I’m in the seat 3K to 7.5K is right in front of me which is the range this car runs at. The old tach was up on top of the dash to my right and was tough to see and look ahead at the same time. The layout might look funny but when my hands are in the driving position I can see all the gauges comfortably.

Barry – The engine for this car has been done for a while. I took about 3.5#’s off the flywheel and just need to get it balanced before I put the tranny on and start plumbing.

Nial – Any idea when car numbers will be available for reservation?
 
Chris, that layout makes sense to me. I'm considering a similar sort of thing for if I ever get to building a new dash for the Tunebug. The classic Bugeye layout is nice and all, but I can't see the oil pressure/temp gauge all that well.
