Today I ordered the last batch of (parts parts) for Miss Agatha.

What remains and what can wait a bit cause it has too is:

Complete interior.

All four turn signal lights.

Rechromeing grill and rear bumpers.

New top and tonneau cover.

Fancy steering wheel.

Parts for side curtains rebuild.

When this stuff gets here I can do brakes, clutch, dash, etc. and get real serious about makeing her work and run correctly and winter will be over, hehe.
 
That's what I was saying Jack, get all the "go" bits so you can take her out and shake her down without offending the neighborhood w/noise etc. Then (if you don't spend all your time driving her), you will find the time to get the rest done in due course!
 
Agree Mike, I live in a gated community with about two miles of private roads, good stuff.
 
Winter over with??!! It is gorgeous down here today (82F & little puffy clouds w/lots of sunshine), Jack. I wish mine were on the road right now, she would be wailing! I just took a twenty minute trip and the ride was like a rolling car show, everyone had their goodies out wheelin'. I mean I saw EVERYTHING from '60s muscle cars to Astons, Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, literally hundreds of Harleys and a number of antiques. Almost reminded me of that photo spread post of that beautiful New Years Day run in Cal.
 
It was rather fine here in NC today too, low 70s and very nice and sunny. First went for a spin in ncbugeye to take my 12-year-old son to basketball practice, he is the cool guy turning up in an open-top little car for all his basketball buddies to see ... then went on a 20 mile bike ride with my 16-year old son and a schoolfriend of his, and her dad, both British. It was a 7/8ths British excursion as only my son is half American.

I cannot but think we will be paying for this mild weather in a few weeks.

As you can see the PO thought he might need several of the rotary switches, three of them are in the original Lucas plastic bag.

I can find two rear lights complete with bulbs, what we old-fashioned English used to call "stop-and-tail" lights. They are absolutely new as far as I can tell.

Boy you can't ask for better than that Jack!! A few years ago, I actually molded my own rotary switch out of modeling clay until I found a new one, he, he! If Jack doesn't want the stop and tail lights, Chris, may I have second dibs on them?

LOL, the stop and tail lights I need for sure. Not quite sure what you mean by a rotery switch, do I need more than one??
 
No, you definitely need only one. I just couldn't work out whey the PO thought he needed 4 spares.... !!!!

Yes, the rotary switch operates the parking lights and headlights, but you will need the underlying switch and the lock barrel from your original, parts 1 and 3 in the Moss diagram on page 70, probably still in usable condition (unless you are DETERMINED to fit new parts everywhere). What I have is the visible part, part 2, which is the part likely to have deteriorated badly over the last 50 years exposure to the elements.
 
Oh, okies, have a new one comming from Moss. Just need the turn signals then.
 
Jack, the rotary switch is the bit that goes around the ignition key and operates the lights!
 
Yea, mike. Have one on the way from Moss so will go with that. The switch is fine and I even had a couple of keys made.
 
thought I would try too--

does anyone (else) have 2 good condition rear red tail lights (for the turn signals) seen in the picture above? I would pay of course. Please let me know. Thanks.

You know a long time ago we use to use the red lights from trucks. Plastic of course.
 
Yep, Jack, I have used the "beehive" truck running light lenses front and rear. In the front one has a choice of either clear (the more "original" look) or amber and they can be had quite cheaply. The rim/edge does need to have the plastic shaved down a little to seat properly into the rubber and allow the chrome bezel to fit right, but that is a simple thing to do! Save the original glass ones for the car show and let the cheap plastic ones do the job for daily driving!
