Fuel lines in to Carbs. Thanks Frank for the tip on useing a clip to the front engine mount, that helped.

Now for a question: What size battery do I use I know 12V but size wise? I keep seeing folks talk about batteries like 26, no clue as to what that is.

Maybe a generic number or length and width in inchs would be helpful.

Yep, you'r right, it is just about that time, I have no exhaust system though, gona be loud. But need a battery to static time and set valves. Oh wait, I got a new one in my truck, bet that will work just fine, hehe. This just may be the week, either that or it's pull the engine and fix what ever I screwed up.

Was looking at engine bay preaty well complete, sure wish I had a chrome plater close by, just may have to do some of that down the road a bit.

I just asked asked autozone for a battery, they knew which one, it was fine.

Do consider the terminal location(s)and how you are gonna hold it in. I've fried one from the hold down arcing against the post.
 
Oh, yep, hehe. Tomorrow will borrow truck batt to set valves. Just did the static timeing. Got to work up to this slowly, so much room for error with everything new or rebuilt.
 
Group 24 battery but watch which side the terminals are on.
Originally the posts were agaist the firewall. This causes those holes in the bump outs at the battery/firewall.
Consider the terminals on the outside of the battery.
+ or - ground, the ground goes on the left side of the car but do keep the terminals on the outside.

What do you use for a battery tray Frank?? Anyone??
 
Cardboard, a battery mat and a bungee cord.
I wasn't going to pay in excess of $40 from the usual suspects, this has worked a treat even without the heater holding it steady.
 
I don't use a box, I use EPDM torch down roofing.
It's rubber, 1/4" thick and will not rot, corrode, or let the battery slide. I also run it up the firewall just to the top of the battery.
Flag down a roofer, he will have scraps of this
 
Yep, know what it is. Think I will go by one of the boat marts and see what they have if anything. My boat had plastic boxes that maybe could be cut down.

Yes, I recommend the marine, plastic box route. It will save a lot of grief down the road!
