Today was intresting to say the least. I was going to install fuel tank etc., didn't happen.

Instead I started this morning with, bonnet rubber supports door latches, front shocks (one of which will go to Peter tomorrow as I have now decided it is a weak sister) and stearing rack and shaft. Boy is that rubber gromet thing a pain to install, the one on the stearing shaft where it goes through the fire wall. Then started messing with the hyd. lines. Had a heck of a time getting them screwed into the brass four way valve till I ground a bit off of the connector, not the flange, where it had spread. Anyway they are now mostly installed, need to pick up a few stainless bolts and nuts tomorrow for the clamps across the top of the fire wall.

Tomorrow I must go to the hardware for some small bolts and some washers and lockwashers, stainless steel. Also must stop my the machine shop and have the outer parts of the radius arm bushings removed, seems the rubber part only had popped out and I did not notice that the outer sleeve remained till I tried to install the new bushings.

Next I think will be the pedel box and the blanking plate, will make those gaskets and seal with the blue stuff, hate it when they leak water on your feet, also rusts the floor boards.

Miss Agatha does not look near so naked as she did. In fact she is starting to give me a bad time about the rest of her parts not being close by. Even the wife wanted to know what was next and how much. So I gave her a list of about 1000 dollars and she said OK wait a few weeks till we get our property tax bill, going up this year, but we don't know how much yet. That order will get all the rest of the suspension and brakes and wheels under her. Looking forward to that for sure. Wife has asked a dozen times about the interior, think she now understands that is the last bit, she can hardly wait for it to start looking like a Bugeye as she remembers.

The paint job is excellent, and the color "Old English White" is such a nice cream. Looks so different from everything else you see around.

We haveing fun now.

Jack - make sure you're not putting any of those hardware bolts in blind holes...OE bolts are just a tad bit shorter than they & if there's something back in that blind area, you could be in for a surprise.

It's a pre-programed instinct of an LBC wife.

These are just small bolts and nuts to hold the four clips on the firewall, they bolt straight through, any thread will be fine.

Jack in the not too distant future I hope to have Ms Triss in the body/ paint shop. I too am planning Old English White. Could you post or PM the paint code? Thanks

What was used was: Rover, Old English white, Code 97111.

Brand: Nason, Ful-thane 2K Urethane

with catalyst.

Valspar "SunThane" Polyuethane 2K, 852-W1395 is the OEW Herself's MGB got. Single stage (no clearcoat). I'll be curious to see the two side-by-each for comparison's sake.

hey jack ... first off welcome back and congrats ... one queston as i prepare to do the same, did you also have any of the small cover plates and or bolt heads painted as well. the cover for the pedal box, the pedal box itself, the cover plate for the opposite side of where the RHD pedal box is. anything that you would want painted white.

Pedal box and the associated plate are black. Bonnet hinges are black. All bolts not on engine are bright and shiney.

Only thing besides body shell and doors that is white is door hinges, Plinith, bonnet, and Shift box. Underside of car is white as well.

All suspension is black including alum on rear end, transmission is same as engine.

Shocks are natural alum. along with rack mounts.

Ask me specifics pls.

did you decide to go black on the pedal box or is that the original color? my pedal box was originally brit green like the car.

Transmission is green, and pedal box and blanking plate are black. Or at least until Jack corrects me.

Patrick

Black black for pedel box and blanking plate.

Bugeyes, and Mark I MGs had painted transmissions for sure. Can't speek for the rest but expect all 948s were painted.
