Went to see about my radiator today. Dug it out of the corner. Guess what, it has a new core. A bit of cleaning and a coat of black paint and it even looks new. That was easy.

I am slowly working toward the rear springs, gesh. Going to have to have machine shop make some U straps for them. Oh well. After I get back from Europe in a couple of weeks. Mean while I still have a bit or two, headlight bowles, and top bow. Hehe, ain't it wonderful how the pile just goes away when you work on it.
 
Mine's down to the heater box and some interior work. I ~still~ can't see the Elan inna garage.
 
Oh, forgot to say, Thank you JollyRoger. Nice radiator.
 
Sob. My GT6 could be done in two weeks. All I have left to do is the interior, the glass, and hang the new chrome.
Haven't touched it in about 8 years.
Yeah, I know it's not a Sprite, but it's the only current resto I've got. No room or time to start on one of the Bugeyes.

Finish and sell the GT6 then get to work on a Bugeye.

No, I'll never sell the GT6. But, I do need to finish it, just to drive it. I used to have a corner in a friends body shop where I did the majority of the work on the GT6, but lost that when he retired. Now I just have a tiny garage, and it always seems to have something else in it. Current resident is a Fiat 850 Spyder.
I've got a truly basket case Bugeye to tackle, but it'll be awhile yet. I've got one in California that essentially just needs to be taken apart and freshened up. Low mileage car, and I'm the second owner.

"Stuff" always seems to grow at about 25% more than available garage space.

I got one one of those temporary, "hoop-house" buildings for the back yard of our summer house....figured it would be a great, low-cost additon for car projects.

I built a 10'x14' shed inna back... "Plenty of extra space! I'll shelve it and have ROOM inna garage, finally!"

---NOT! Shed's packed like th' fat kid's lunchbox... STILL seem to have the *same* volume of stuff in the garage as before. Gotta be an anomaly of physics.
 
Doc, when I finish this latest addition, I'll have 3475 square feet of garage space! Still won't be enough...
 
In about '94 we "downsized from a 6K sq/ft shop to a 3.5K sq/ft place... sold off a paint booth, and a BUNCH of gear. Still had to "pack efficiently" to make it all workable. Prioritising the work was an interesting game: what can sit where and for how long, etc. Shuffling dead cars around can be time consuming and tiresome. Right now I'd kill for that 3475 sq/ft.
 
Yeah, but you're running a business in yours - I'm just playing with my personal collection in mine - & its still too small!
 
We effectively shut down a few years ago. Now I have to "make do" with what I have here at the hovel, all for my own cars. No more wrenching on OPC's. Done. Fini! Insistence usually gets: "Hundred bucks an hour, you supply parts, no guarantee, and oh, by-the-way... better hurry as I've started the clock already. I'm now waiting on YOUR PARTS."

That usually elicits a quick: "HUH?!?! Oh... ummm... nevermind then."

I'm FREE at last!!! YAY!!!
 
Yeah, last year, we decided to clear up the clutter here in the house... 10-15 big storage bins full of stuff put away, and the house is even more cluttered than it was. I agree "Gotta be an anomaly of physics."
 
One of the benefits of military life was that everything that went into a house had to leave it 3 years later...taught Jerri & Shannon not to hoarde stuff....however, now that we're retired, let the hoarding begin!
 
While putting this stuff away, I kept saying.. We are never gonna get this stuff out again, why don't we just throw it away or sell it? I kept getting the "it's mine, I'm keeping it" routine. If it was up to me, we'd just have the furniture in here, but we keep collecting junk.
