Got good news, Erik has the engine all together and he's got it back in the car. Got a new radiator and said that he plans to have it all hooked up will b firing it up soon! Here are some pics that Erik sent of the progress, looking very good.

Had both the intake and exaust manifolds Jet Hot coated so they look great in the pics.
The valve cover is out at the Nu Chrome being recromed so for the time being using an old TR4 cover. The engine bay has been all repainted and detailed so it's looking realy great.

That's definite progress. I haven't been down there for a while.

Glad to see that you got a nice fan. Too bad it will be almost covered up, but it will run cooler!

I have a new (old friend's) place to hang out for the next few weeks, where there's not much grease or oil, but a lot of paint fumes in the air.......

George,

His is still at the platers. Along with my bumper...........

Looks great! Is that another 3 next to your car, in black?

Rich,
The TR is looking great. One day I would like to be able to do the same to my car. The exhaust manifold looks great.

With all the other work I had done I had to have the grungy valve cover rechromed also.

It looks lik Erik is really doing a tremendous job on the car. I’d really like to get over to his shop and see how it’s looking up close myself. I haven’t been able take any time off and get to Erik’s shop in a long while either. I’m so swamped at work right now working on getting projects done before the end of year that I haven’t been able to take any time off. I’m even going into the office on weekends now.

At least when it’s all done, with all the work that I’ve asked Erik to do, I think most of the major mechanical areas will be pretty much sorted. I've had a few mechanical upgrades down also, particularly to the steering that aren't really visible but should take a lot of the wobble out of the peg & cam steering.

Here’s a list of the work that Erik’s done for me on the car:

Full engine rebuild
Engine balanced
Upgraded rear seal
Tri-metal bearings
Performance Cam from BP Northwest
Rechromed valve cover
Repainted Block & head

Head Rebuild
Hardened valves and valve seats
3-Angle valve job

Jet hot Coat Intake & Exhaust Manifolds
New seals for Gearbox & differential

New radiator
TR6 8 bladed fan upgrade from Moss Motors

Complete Overhaul of Steering system
Steering box rebuilt
Upgraded Steering box cover from Revington TR
New tierod ends
Upgraded Delrin steering pins
Upgraded nylon/polyurethane Bushings in steering column from Revington TR
Upgraded idler arm with oilite bushes Revington TR

Engine Bay repainted & detailed
Front frame cleaned and repainted with POR-15

I think that about covers it. There may be some other things also that I can’t recall right now.

Looks Great! Just one note -- Your fan might have to be flipped around to get clearance with the radiator.

Fantastic Rich!!!

I really, really like your combo fuel pump and
glass bowl filter.

Have fun driving

Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to getting it back and take it for a nice fall drive here in New England. It'll be a lot of fun. My two sons (6 & 11) keep asking me when I'll be getting it home. They love riding in it.

Oh, BTW, if any one is interested, I put an ad in Jag's for sale section to sell my '68 E-Type project. With any luck soon my sig line will just read '61 TR3A as cars owned!
