Miss Agatha is nakeeeed. Whoot.

Except for the rear springs, and they just may stay in place, I can't seem to move them at all. Supose an impact hammer might help but I don't have one. We'll see.

Now it's on to striping, cleaning, and getting parts ready to reinstall. Quite some pile I have of them now.
 
You really want to get those springs off if possible---lots of PB Blaster on the bolts
 
yep, that's the route I am takeing. Durn things.

Really I have two more bolts, one in a door hinge and one in a striker for door latch, Just may drill them.

For 8 bolts, wonders if rental place has em.
 
I think I just drooled on the keyboard. time to program the wife into buying it. should only take a few months.

Dont look at it as only 8 bolts. Once you have one you'll use it for all sorts of stuff. Lugs, exhaust, bumpers and.... Who knows what else. I have a pnumatic one as well as an impact ratchet.

I agree with you in principle, but having bought chicago electric tools in the past, I'd say he'll be lucky if he gets 8 bolts before it breaks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

In general, I'd say that tool is pretty useless for two reaons:

1 - reliability
2 - torque rating is too low (240lbs)

My two cents is that you need to get close to 400lbs to do most work with an impact. I find my cheapo 340 ft-lbs impact to be barelly sufficient.

I think a cheap compressor and air impact would be a much better investment....

Air tools were something I considered a luxury until I bought them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Now I've found so many times they save me time and money that I consider them essential....
 
Just my 2 cents, but I've owned a craftsman electric impact for almost 20 years now. Same impact, never failed me. Still works like the day I bought it. For those of us that don't have an air compressor, an electric impact is a very worthwhile investment. I agree with Ben, you'll find yourself using it a lot more than you'd expect.
