Progress Update

I have posted pics of my 74 Midget as we progress with the restore. The mechanical is done and the body work is next.

Nice air stacks. Slight modification of Hap's design.
Don't see too much rust. Guess that's cause you're in AZ
Bottom of door and rear fender and panels. How's the rear bulkhead?

There is major rust. This is NOT an AZ car. It will take my friend two weeks to cut out and weld in new metal. Rockers, rear fenders and the cowl skins. I am guessing that this car sat outside for some time with all the drains clogged. The under carriage, frame and floor pans are in almost perfect condition. Regardless of the rust, my son and I are having a blast! He calls the car his "Babe Magnet"!

Looks great. Is that a homeade aluminum battery hold down next to them battery studs though? I'd hate to see your project go up in flames cause of an Arching hold down. Other wise all lookls great!

Nice progress!

Be glad that all the rust is confined to the rockers, rear fenders and the cowl skins...if that's all there is, I'd consider it minor rust...don't ask me how I know.
